Muddy, basically black beer with a shy brown hue and acceptable carbonation unlocks a mousse-like head that colors cappuccino and thickens up to two fingers. The foamy carpet disperses soon to the sides and leaves a few tiny marks on the glass.
The nose experiences relatively timid nuances, predominantly licorice, light-roasted malt and a boozy twist.
The taste profile proves to be much bigger than what the fragrance anticipated. More like what I'd expect of a 9.5 % Imperial Stout. I can pick fairly hefty licorice, roasted coffee beans and light-roasted malt. The boozy tang is recognizeable and a tad sharp. The taste fails to be complex though.
The body is medium. The beer ends with massive, slightly bitter licorice, roasted malt and a tad burned mocha. A pinch of aniseed can also be depicted. There's still a modest alcoholic touch lingering on the tongue but it has fortunately rounded up to some extent. The aftertaste roasts the tastebuds for quite a long time.
The mouthfeel is medium-strong, a tad boozy, roasty and slightly sharp. It's medicinal and slightly lip-glueing and sticky. One thing that really surprises me is the fact that the beer is effervescent. I didn't anticipate it of an Imperial Stout. The beer is unfortunately not very big.
