Day #17 of Advent Calendar. "Tropical Cake Pastry Sour" sounds yummy 😋
The beer colors cloudy and peachy. Reserved carbonation fails to create a head — a mere small-bubbled lace ring circles the top and flattens quickly to nil.
The scent is light-sweet and caresses the nose: lactose, squeezed nectarine and mango yogurt reach the nostrils first. A tad peach follows right at their steps. Coconut is also observable. Nicely juicy but unguided as to the olfactory profile.
Sourness falters seriously and almost fails to cross the doorstep. A juicy cocktail of mango, nectarine, mandarin and peach occupies every nook of the mouth. A proposal of passionfruit escorts the tropical hula-hula. Lactose is more present than coconut, and they jointly round the corners beautifully.
The body is light to light-medium. The finish is equally tropical juicy as upfront. I don't taste any major difference as for the flavor selection. The aftertaste lives its slow life in Te Ulu-o-Te Watu.
The mouthfeel is nectar-like, velvety, tropical and considerably smooth. It's undoubtedly very unbeery. It's also somewhat flat, the beer would benefit from more ample carbonation. Further on, the mouthfeel is subtle and pulpy. Easy and gluggable.
