Flight 2/4. Murky, rhubarb-juice-tinted beer sets a rich, clean white head that rises beautifully up onto the wall of the glass. The texture of the froth is velvety. The scent is surprisingly restrained: I get only rhubarb and strawberry. Powerful rhubarb and a reasonable dollop of sour strawberry juice make the foundation of the palate. A bit of sour redcurrant and distant cranberry follow behind, while the whole medley lies on a soft, fresh wheaty bed. The light-bodied beer finishes with sour rhubarb and strawberry whereas the wheat malt retreats somewhat to the background. The aftertaste sends the tastebuds to a garden for medium to long duration. The mouthfeel shows penetrative tartness and puckering, acidic and mouth-drying characteristics. The mouthfeel is additionally refreshing and summery.
