An excellent roast malt aroma, neither too chocolatey nor overly coffee. Just a lovely roast malt and a bit of hops. Very black with red nuances. Flavour is a great roast malt, not bitter, and quite smooth. Medium heavy body with definite oat flavours too. A wee bit of hops on the tip of the tongue and a little sweetness on the back. In my opinion an outstanding example of the style. Not really a lot of the darker malt flavours like chocolate or coffee. Pure oatmeal stout. Groovy. I dig it.
