A HAZY IPA from the guys at MIKKELLER. This beer claims to be a hazy IPA. That’s definitely justified, as you can see the haziness through the bottle even before you open it. This beer is a session IPA at 3.5% ABV. As mentioned before, I was definitely excited about trying this. The colour of the beer in the bottle looked amazing! I get so excited about hazy beer! The beer pours a beautiful, hazy, straw colour in the glass with a 2 finger white head. Definitely replicates a NEIPA. There’s decent levels of carbonation in the beer and really does look good. The aroma then... very decent. There’s mango, grapefruit, orange and lemon peel. Maybe a hint of pineapple. Passion fruit as well. Smells good. The taste then... not bad at all. There’s the mango, the grapefruit, the peels. There’s a nice element of sweetness to start with, there’s the tropical and passion fruits in the middle. There’s a hint of spice. Then to finish, there’s a nice bitterness as the beer goes down. It’s a well balanced beer. The fact that they’ve managed to get an aroma and a taste like this with an ABV as low as 3.5% is definitely impressive. Normally, the lower the ABV, the harder it is to find what the hops are trying to do in the beer. It was refreshing and I could sink 3/4 of these in the sun very easily. Overall, it’s nothing mind blowing but a real I solid effort from MIKKELLER.
