Muuten olisi laadukas mutta oma inhokki eli luumun maku lyö liian vahvasti läpi.

Dried fruits, plum, bitter berries and malt aromas with the hint of oak. Nice.

Belgialaisissa oluissa on se jokin - niin tässäkin! Hyvää olutta, joka kuitenkin jakanee mielipiteitä.

Tummaa marjaisuutta. Luumua. Hitunen happamuutta, joka kyllä toimii tähän ihan hyvin. Ei nyt omaan makuun lajina.

Cloudy, deep dark brown beer with reasonable carbonation unleashes a fawn, silky head that falls short of one finger. The foamy cap dissolves soon to a gossamer lacing and a neat circle wafting on the surface. The first element that I enjoy in the scent is plum juice. It's not only because of the beerstyle, the beer actually contains plum. That's a smart move by the brewmaster, plum dances attractively in this beer. Additionally, I'm getting modest brown malt, a drop of sherry and a remote coffeeish idea. The plum is really bold on the tongue. Unsweetened plum juice flows powerfully to every nook of the mouth. Purple grape and a small amount of black cherry add their nuances to the package. I can also detect a bit of red wine and an undisguised note of oak barrel. The malty sphere is medium-bitter and dark and has drifted further away from its initial olfactory presence. The body is medium to medium-full. The beer finishes with hefty light-bitter plum nectar, black cherry, semidry red wine and blackcurrant mash, followed by smaller amendments of licorice and dark rye malt as well as a distant roasted note. The wine-soaked oak barrel can't be missed this time either. The aftertaste stamps buckets of plum barefoot together with the tastebuds for some time. The mouthfeel is rather strong, intense, nectar-like and slightly vinous. It's also extremely autumnal or even somewhat wintry. Furthermore, the mouthfeel is relatively deep but not particularly complex though. It's not cellary either, despite the name, but could be described as barrel aged for good reason. Not sure how much a Belgian Brown Ale this is but bold and courageous anyway.
