Time for a nonalcoholic Malt Beer, this time from Trinidad & Tobago. 🇹🇹
Pours brilliant, medium-black. The rich carbonation unlocks a cappuccino-colored, small-bubbled froth that grows one finger tall. The head dissolves soon to a pretty lace ring circling the top. Nothing is left on the side of the glass.
The fragrance offers sweet malt extract, molasses, a tiny injection of syrup and a faint chocolatey hint. The palate follows the suit with hefty malt extract, a generous punch of molasses and some cane sugar, accompanied by a drop of syrup and a distinct dark chocolatey twist.
The body is light but disguised by the high sugar content. The beer finishes with a less powerful, yet sweet package that is composed of loads of molasses and sweet dark malt, followed by a pinch of sweet dark chocolate and seasoned with cane sugar. The aftertaste rolls on tongue for a short to medium period.
The mouthfeel is light, distinctly sappy and lip-glueing. It's also very soft-drink-like and even a tad satiating.
