This dark red ale has a full-bodied flavour of malt on an excellent background of hop bitterness. The sweet malt offsets the fruity bitterness of the Perle and Bramling Cross. Savour this ale like a fine wine. Old Jock is a classic Scottish Ale and like all strong ales is best enjoyed at room temperature 10-12 deg C.

This is a beauty, great balance between the hops and the malts.
Very easy to drink, so watch out for that ABV. 👌🏼

Das Old Jock Scotch Ale wird mit den Malzsorten Pale Ale und Röstmalz, sowie den Hopfensorten Fuggles, First Gold und Perle gebraut. 6,7% abv stehen zu Buche.
Aus GrĂĽnden wird das Strong Ale "warm" verkostet.
Optisch ist das Ale kastanienbraun und klar und mit altweiĂźem Schaum bedeckt.
Aromen von Toffee und feinem Röstmalz schmeicheln der Nase.
Der Antrunk ist sehr weich, aufgrund geringer Karbonisierung. Das Röstmalz ist fein ausgeprägt, wie auch der Gesamtcharakter dieses Scotch Ales. Im Mund wird es leicht moussierend. Der Hopfen bringt dezent erdigere Noten ins geschmackvolle Scotch Ale.
Das Old Jock ist ein gutes Scotch Ale. Wem so ein Störtebeker Scotch Ale zu mächtig ist, sollte bei einem Schottland Urlaub mal dieses probieren. Gibt's im schottischen Lidl.
