The aroma has bourbon, oak barrel, vanilla, a hint of smokiness, and woodiness. Quite a weak scent, though. I expected more. The mouthfeel is carbonated, dry, thin, clean, smooth, and warming. It's frustrating how thin the body is. The body is almost watery. Also, there is way too much carbonation. This has the potential to be so much more. The taste has roastiness, bourbon, oak barrel, dark chocolate, smokiness, and vanilla. The aftertaste is dry, smooth, warming, woody, and leaves both a bourbon and watery taste in the mouth. There are good elements here, but overall, it turns out to be a disappointment. ___________________ Tuoksussa on bourbonia, tammitynnyriä, vaniljaa, hieman savuisuutta ja puumaisuutta. Aika vaisu tuoksu kyllä. Odotin enemmän. Suutuntuma on hiilihappoinen, kuiva, ohuehko, puhdas, pehmeä ja lämmittävä. Kyllä harmittaa miten ohut tämän runko on. Runko on lähes vetinen. Lisäksi hiilihappoja on aivan liikaa. Tässä olisi potentiaalia paljon enempään. Maussa on paahteisuutta, bourbonia, tammitynnyriä, tummaa suklaata, savuisuutta ja vaniljaa. Jälkimaku on kuiva, pehmeä, lämmittävä, puumainen ja jättää suuhun sekä bourbonin, että vetisen maun. Tässä on hyviä elementtejä, mutta pettymykseksi kääntyy.

Dark beer barrel age something that hard to aquire taste. But trying.

Advent Calendar 2023, Day 17. Yesterday's Ten Fidy didn't impress me much, so now her big sister with barrel aging. 2021 vintage. A double disappointment or a rematch? The rematch attempt starts opaque, deep oily black. It even looks thick. The carbonation is reasonable for the style. A chocolate moussy head exceeds one finger and is long sustained in the form of a dense lace ring. The foamy ring bends upwards tightly towards the rim of the glass. Bourbon dances seductively in the air. Dark chocolate, cacao nibs and vanilla join the choir. Marginal caramel, syrup, faint molasses, an oaky twist and a wink of lingonberry complete the olfactory performance. The lingonberry is really surprising! The audience claps, the curtain closes. The tastebuds have their ten minutes of fame right after the curtain is back up. Fruity Bourbon, loads of dark chocolate, cacao nibs and soaked oak barrel all declare to be winners. Hard to say. The dark chocolate starts convincingly but the Bourbon comes more steadfastly and occupies the number one position before the finishing line is broken. A pinch of syrup and distant molasses arrive later. Alcohol is nowhere. Looks like the number of contestants is smaller now than in the first round. The body is relatively full. Again, not enormous but full enough. The finish is a joyride of Bourbon and dark chocolate, some other components either shrinking or going hiding entirely. I wanted to know if the aftertaste would forgive me, through all the stormy days I was hoping it would stay with me, but I know it's my fault; now I'm missing my lil Ms Fidy. The mouthfeel is full, barrel aged, deep, round, smooth and balanced. Now we are talking! Still, the ABV could merit a bigger variety of nuances. Definitely more of a rematch than a double disappointment.

Tämä vuoden -22 bourbon barrel aged. Bourboni dunkkaa. Suklaatia ja kahvia. Bourbonia ei niinkään. -21 vuotinen oli enemmän pehmeämpi. Tässä hyppää suklaan ja kahvin kovuus esille. Ei tämäkään huono ole missään nimessä vaan hitaasti juotava nautinto, mutta eroa löytyy pikkuisella kypsytyksellä.
