Translucent, deep tea-colored beer with a cappuccino-colored, silky lace ring that adorns the top for significantly long. Eventually, the head dissolves to a hair-thin lace ring on top.
The olfactory package contains massive sherry barrel, a generous punch of fermented raisin, faint rum and dried plum. A remote smoky nuance lingers also in the air.
The gustatory experience follows along the: I get abundant sherry barrel, fermented raisin, a tad brown malt as well as distant but recognizeable vanilla. I'm not sure if I get a suggestion of rum or not among the gustatory elements. Anyway, the palate is simply attractive but could still be more multilayered.
The body is medium-full. The beer ends with overwhelming sherry barrel, some malt, a neat injection of dry red wine as well as a bit of rye malt. The aftertaste keeps the tastebuds alert for long.
The mouthfeel is strong, heavily barrel aged, substantially vinous and somewhat tanninic. It goes without saying that the mouthfeel is dry and relatively mouth-drying. Slow for sure.
