Apricot Wheat, Poland
3.7
Impenetrable, beautiful deep orange beer with decent, short-lived carbonation creates a cloud-white, soft fluffy head that grows one finger tall. The foamy cap dissolves soon to a hair-thin lacing and a neat dense lace ring circling the surface. The retreating foam leaves a few sizeable burst balloons on the wall of the glass. The fragrance is astonishingly fruity: fresh peach and apricot merge into a wheaty backbone. The palate continues with a broader spectrum of flavors: light-sour-crisp peach, apricot and nectarine form the foundation of the gustatory supply, flavored with moderate mango, gooseberry and a distant illusion of apple. The body is substantially light, which is no surprise for 3.8 %. The beer finishes, over medium duration, with slightly sour apricot, peach and mango. Wheat malt is still easily recognizeable though quite gentle. The mouthfeel is light, slightly tart and distantly crisp, juicy and tropical. It's also rather refreshing and summery.
