Murky, deep sludgy brown beer with shy, quick carbonation builds a cork-tinted, tiny-bubbled head that reaches one finger. The foamy lid melts gradually down to a thin lacing on top. The retreating foam leaves no traces on the glass. The beer doesn't emit any fragrance to my big surprise. The taste, instead, offers sweet licorice that is even effusive. However, it's not particularly strong. I can also pick loads of medium-sweet light-tangy malt, brown Digestives, multigrain bread and faint raisin. The body is light-medium to medium. The beer finishes with medium-sweet tangy malt, a pungent version of licorice, graham crackers and a distinct punch of raisin. A decent amount of hops join the play in the final stage. The aftertaste keeps the tastebuds alert for some time. The mouthfeel is a bit tangy, medium-strong, rather lip-glueing and autumnal. Not a winner. The cute red house in the picture is an Icelandic peculiarity: troll house.
