Draught pour left a body of ruby red with a brown hue, and one finger of creamy foam.
Scents of caramel and sweet dough, with a sort of copper note that is otherwise hard to place.
The mouthfeel is very light, a little thin even. As per the cask there was no carbonation to speak of so the light body felt flat to boot.
Taste is a malt onslaught. Bitter malt hits first before soke sweetness washes over in the form of caramel. Some salty cracker follows as the caramel turns to a toffee to keep up a balance before morphing into a sweet biscuit which carries on until a bitter malt forms the finish and rides out the aftertaste.
Not a style that I have alot of experience with but I definitely want to try more.
