Coffee India Pale Ale, Switzerland
3.5
Foggy, light copper beer with rich, sustained carbonation builds a shining white, whipped-creamy head that exceeds one finger. The foamy cap descends very slowly downwards and adorns the top for significantly long. The scent allows one to inhale nuances of bitter lemon peel, strong dry hops and a moderate dollop of overstayed, bitter black coffee. The taste portrays a generous amount of dry hops and a copious pour of bitter, strong black coffee of yesterday. I can also pick substantially bitter, old lemon peel and a tiny grapefruity injection. On the softer side, I get surprisingly soft spelt and a distant nutty note. The body is light. The beer finishes with extraordinarily bitter black coffee and dry hops plus a citrusy slam. The finish tweaks the tastebuds for a considerably long time. The mouthfeel is light, rather crisp, somewhat tangy and relatively dry. The combination of dry hops and coffee makes it also challenging.
