Wasn’t much aroma and the taste was average pale with a citrus slightness nothing spectacular

Barrel aged pale ale. Had to get it with that premise. Over half a year old, though. Best before 11/3/2020 Scent has basic pale ale feel of hoppiness and fruitiness. Taste is also fruity with orange and other tropical fruits and has something of side flavour which probably comes from the barrel, I'd say licorice but it's not that. Surprisingly fruity still despite not being that fresh (if I assumed the age correctly). Hmmh. It's a decent pale ale, but I was hoping to get a stronger flavour from the barrel.
