Impérial stout assez douce, mais bien structurée et sans « trou » gustatif. 13 degrés d’alcool… chaud!

Quarantine Day #9.
Time for a nightcap, after a relaxing sauna. The beer colors brilliant, pitch black. The introvert carbonation sets a fawn, velvety lacing that barely covers the surface. The head melts quickly to a frazil-icy lace ring circling the top. No splatters can be found on the wall of the glass.
The nose receives astonishingly weak nuances: distinct licorice, faint espresso and a faint peppery twist.
The taste takes me with surprise. I get punched by powerful dark chocolate, bags of cacao nibs, fairly easily recognizeable vanilla and a bit of sweet syrupy brown malt. Moreover, I find a bit of mocha and a modest whisper of chili.
The body is medium-full. The beer ends with sweet dark malt, subtle caramel malt, loads of cacao nibs and sweet licorice. Vanilla can't be missed, it makes its way through the palette. The coffee is sugared and lies in the background. The aftertaste keeps the tastebuds sticky for a short to medium time.
The mouthfeel is sappy and rather lip-glueing. The mouthfeel is not particularly full but the sweetness makes it chewy. It's also distantly spicy as well as nicely soft and smooth.
Palatable but doesn't exactly meet the expectations.
