Judgement Day
10.5% Abt / Quadrupel
A massive beer in every sense of the word. A stronger and more contemplative version of our Lost and Found Ale. Judgment Day is the base beer for our Cuvee de Tomme. Many of the Trappist Breweries produce a version of beer which ages incredibly well for many years to come. And, since none of us knows when the end of the world is coming, we suggest you stock up with lots of Lost Abbey beers so that when the end of the world magically appears from nowhere, youโ€™ll have a beer or two on hand for even the stingiest of angels.

HOPPY NEW YEAR 2021 TO ALL PINT PLEASE SLURPERS!! ๐Ÿป๐ŸŽ‡๐Ÿงจโœจ๐Ÿฅณ๐ŸŽ†๐Ÿป The very last beer of this year. The name is "Judgement Day". Hope that today is not a judgement day though. The beer year 2020 was actually quite delicious. May 2021 still be even better!!! It takes a while to open the bottle. The cork is reeeeally tight. Finally, it's off. The beer pours fully murky, very deep dark brown. When held to light, a burgundy tint comes out. The reserved carbonation builds a lovely chocolatey head with one finger's height and big-bubbled soapy texture. The scent is more numb than I anticipated: I can solely pick raisin, dried plum, blackberry and a faint boozy aroma like Port. Potential layeredness and complexity are absent. The palate is dark dried fruity big time! Raisin is inexorable. Dried plum and date accompany it in close proximity. Blackberry and blackcurrant twist the package in a bit sourer direction. The boozy feature is fairly soft and appealingly warming, just like that of a medium-mature Port. I start unveiling a decent degree of depth and even a few layers but not really diving into complexity. The body is medium-full. The finish is even sourer with blackcurrant and blackberry, in that determined order. Raisin is fermented and modestly tangy. Additionally, I can find dark plum peel, a tiny injection of chemical alcohol and a tanninic nuance. The aftertaste is heading for the Gates of Hell for quite some time. The mouthfeel is intense, yet also round, reasonably deep, moderately layered and lip-glueing. It's also boozy, slightly vinous and remotely tanninic. Nicely warming. A nice slow sipper with live fire dancing in the background. WISHING YOU ALL FANTASTIC

Number 1000. This has a dark fruit taste that is plum & raisin A little heavy on the alcohol taste Has some Belgium spices to it as it is a quad. Had to pour in my large mug given the size of the bottle. Had to put a pic with my Halloween reef as I'm a skull freak - born on Halloween. Wahoo.
