Myrkvi is an unfiltered full-bodied Porter Ale with a dark twist. It is seasoned with coffee from Huila in the southwest of Colombia, specially roasted by Reykjavík Roasters. The coffee gives this ale its depth in cooperation with a variety of roasted malts. Myrkvi is an Icelandic given name, meaning the dark one.

Légèrement rugueux, café au max, moins d’alcool par rapport aux autres chefs d’œuvre.

The beer pours foggy, medium-brown. The timid, short-lived carbonation creates a lazy, cream-colored head that doesn't even cover the entire top and then melts soon to flat still.
The scent puts forward a good amount of bitter black coffee and a nice heap of roasted coffee beans. I can also detect a thin nuance of caramel among the olfactory components.
The taste portrays rather strong black coffee, somewhat bitter though, and bags of light-roasted coffee beans. A raw-chocolatey twist lingers nicely on the tastebuds. Additionally, a noticeable injection of lactose brings in needed sweetness and softness.
The body is light-medium to medium. The beer finishes with creamy black coffee and a tad raw chocolate. The aftertaste pleases the tastebuds over long period.
The mouthfeel is a bit roasty, somewhat lip-glueing and distantly sappy. It's also soft, smooth, creamy and medium-light.
