I'm really enjoying the Fuggles and Warlock brews lately. They are innovative and extremely well crafted.
This beer, their take on a California common, is a gorgeous Amber colour with a generous thick foam head. Substantial lacing is deposited throughout the whole session. Carbonation appears to be generous as well.
Fragrant citrus and pine lay heavily over an overwhelmed pretzel bread malt. This citrus part manifests slight lemon/orange notes and the pine make a me want to sing lupulin.
Mouthfeel is crisp, and much flatter/smoother than the carbonation would suggest.
This beer is much drier than the aromas led me to believe. The citrus aspects give way to to the pine and the bitterness is substantial in a lovely ipa kind of way. As in the nose so too in the mouth does the malt take a backseat. What little comes through is biscuit and cracker with a touch of mild caramel. There is a bit of a yeast taste introduced near the end of the sip.
There is a mild bitter lupulin and grassy hops aftertaste that suits the drink well. I dig it.

Strong amber colour and ale taste...however closer to the hops of an IPA and the malt of a pale ale. Not my favourite but a unique common.
