Pure malt amber ale, brewed with 100% barley malt. Bastola is a dry beer with an intense taste and a slight bitterness, furthermore it has an aftertaste of caramel and hazelnut due to the use of special malts. Its head is thick, creamy and adherent. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, top-fermented and second fermentation in the bottle.

Vaalean ruskea ja samea. Pehmyt, mutta hieman mauton. Katkeruus lähes olematon. Menettelee.

Lähes kirkas, mahonginruskea olut beigellä vaahdolla. Vaahto vetäytyy nopeasti.
Tuoksussa karamelliä, toffeeta ja runsasta pähkinää.
Maku alkuun aavistuksen joivainen. Pähkinä ja karamelli iskevät nopeasti läpivoimistettuna alkoholin lämmöllä. Jotenkin ei uskoisi että prosentteja juomassa on vain 6,9. Jälkimaku on tasaisempi ja keskipitkä.
Mielenkiintoinen olut. Ei perinteisiä redejä.

Lauantailta vielä italialainen imperial red ale. Vaahtoa ei juuri ollut, väri erikoisen oranssihko. Maku oli ihan miellyttävä, pitää käydä kokeilemassa muitakin Birra Flean oluita Yrjönkatu 10:ssä 👍🏻

Nice bottle and a nice pour leaves a nice amber/red body, with an almost rusty brown hue, with only trace amounts of white head.
Aromas are very malty, as expected, sweet bread, lots of caramel and fried fruit.
In the mouth this is peculiar, served a little too cold perhaps but it is medium to full bodied with very mild carbonation and equal amounts of mild foam that duke it out after an initial crisp bite. Towards to the end it gets very syrupy unfortunately.
Taste is nicely malty, too, much like the scent, tonnes of caramel, carries to excess with the sweet bread notes. Dried fruit does little to ease the sweetness and it all becomes a little sickly. A mild nuttiness rolls in and started the relief as the 6.9% slowly cuts through the excessive sweetness.
A satisfactory red that touches on imperial territory. I think if I had it again I would prefer it a little closer to room temperature but I would happily revisit this brewery.
