A craft beer in our local shop! It's a rare find. Makes me happy. I pour the beer in the glass... one hell of a foam tower forms there. My internal alarm warns me madly. This is from the same shop as the drastically overdue Perge Malt. And there we go: expired on 27 December 2021. We'll see how I'm going to rate this or if at all. The beer shows a muddy, light-brown hue. Carbonation is indeed powerful. The emerging head is ridiculous, you can see it in the pic. The retention, at least, is long. A tiny-bubbled layer decorates the top much longer. Let me inhale the beery aromas: bread, faint bitter caramel and a sigh of hop. Fermented citrus joins the caravan further down there road. Not sure if the fragrance is supposed to be like this but at least it's doesn't immediately turn me away. This one I dare to taste without hesitation. I can spot a medley of caramel malt, lemon pith, distant toffee and grassy hops. I don't pick yeast here either despite the age. The body is light. The finish is more appealing than the actual taste, the flavors are exactly the same but the excessive effervescence doesn't disturb the experience. The end takes a time. The mouthfeel is light, extremely frothy, fizzy and slightly crisp. I'm not sure what I should say as a conclusion... This is not a winner but not a total disaster either. The age is clearly not beneficial for this beer.
