Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #9 Bourbon and chocolate in the aroma. Taste has bourbon first, followed by oak and chocolate with a little bit of vanilla showing up in the late mid-palate. Oak and a little bit of bourbon linger in the aftertaste. The body is medium-full with a lower amount of carbonation. This one isn't super complex, but it is what was advertised. High 4/5

Due to my busy schedule yesterday, I'll be drinking both #20 and #21 today Barrel Aged Advent Calendar beer Day #20 2019 vintage, canned on 2-19-2019 Chocolate, light bourbon and vanilla in the aroma. Taste has bourbon, chocolate, oak and vanilla. A stout I enjoy quite a bit. Solid bourbon along with the oak and vanilla that comes with the time spent in the barrel. Just enough chocolate to add to it without being distracting. 4.25

Side by side review with Coconut Love Shadow. Bourbon, vanilla and chocolate in the aroma. Taste has vanilla, chocolate bourbon and oak, in that order. Despite how prominent the bourbon was in the aroma, it's a lot more mellow in the taste. Nice balance. I like this one more. While the coconut variant brings some good flavors to the table, I love the balance between the flavors and the bourbon is tastier. 4.25/5

Medium+ body with a medium-low carbonation. Nothing groundbreaking, but it's a tasty stout with lots of barrel character. 4/5
