Jopejskie Red Wine BA, Poland
5.0
In Gliwice now, in a pub called Dobry Zbeer. Just google them on Untappd and check the beer list. You'll be in for a surprise. The beer I'm having is Jopejskie, a Gdansk region traditional ale that has been stored in red wine barrels for two years. Jopejskie is usually very thick, a kisel-like ale with sweet flavour. Scent of this beer has red wine barrel and juicy berries like of a lambic. Taste is tart, vinous, refined and like concentrated berries. Mouthfeel is probably thickest I've ever felt: like one of a kisel. This is the first beer in several years where I question: is this really a beer and not strong liqour that tastes like red wine? Am off duty bartender sitting next to me briefs me in about the beer and its history, which I explained before. It's a beer. And I love it. Like I already love this place. Oh, and I'm having Lorelei from tap next.
