Muddy, dark brown beer with surprisingly extrovert, rapid carbonation unleashes a cappuccino-colored, bubbly head that falls short of one finger. The head collapses quickly to flat still. Merely a very faint ring of minuscule bubbles circling the surface remains behind. No splashes are left on the glass.
The olfactory package contains an intriguing combination of dark chocolate and black coffee. I can also detect raw cacao powder, light-roasted coffee beans and a nutty nuance.
The gustatory provision twists the taste receptors somewhat tighter: the coffee is black and relatively bitter, basically seriously overstayed. The chocolate is raw, very bitter and rather sharp. Nevertheless, whereas the fragrance portrayed chocolate and coffee in equal proportions, the palate is significantly more coffeeish than chocolatey. In the background, I can also detect a bitter unidentifiable citrusy note and faint sweet nut.
The body is medium. The beer finishes with powerful bitter black coffee, overstayed of course, and a good pinch of raw cacao powder. The rather simple aftertaste rolls on tongue for some time.
The mouthfeel is strong, rather tangy and a bit crisp. It's also somewhat dry, mouth-drying and slightly lip-glueing. Rather simple but weirdly attractive. Not particularly easy.
