Gifted from my Mum who visited the brewery a few weeks back. The smoked Porter was good, but this was better. Fantastically smooth, coffee and cocoa dominates with hints of caramel. Highly carbonated at first, it produces a thick tan head that lasts. Carbonation soon fizzes out to leave a medium body and effortlessly drinkable no nonsense imperial stout. Treacle aftertaste, marmite burps 👌 This bottle was a year old at drinking and I have another bottle. Question is, will an 8% stout age well?
