Vintage Pohjala - tasting: 1/4. Bourbon, wood, caramel, cocoa, roasted malts and some maple syrup. Nice soft and sweet mouthfeel. Aftertaste is dry. Bottled: 2019

0,33l bottle from stemmed glass. Bottled 09.05.2019 and the best before was on the same day 2022. Pours dark brown, almost black. Brown foam. Has a lot of sediment in the last quarter. Scent has sweet bourbon, chocolate and coffee. Medium carbonation. Mouthfeel is very oily and thick. Taste is very rounded and mellow. Dark roasted malts, sweet caramel and bourbon, dry wood and some peat. Blueberries are just a faint note on the background. Lovely cocoa powder sensation. Ends with slightly bitter dark chocolate and tender bourbon. The amount of sediment is a bit unappealing, but luckily the flavors are all good. Time has taken the edge off and the beer goes down effortlessly. But as the edges have been rounded, this doesn't really offer anything special.
