Gouden Carolus Tripel was originally brewed for the Knights of the Golden Fleece in 1491. This golden specialty beer is brewed with the best Belgian ripe barley and hops, to preserve as much pure aroma as possible. Ideal with chicken, spicy dishes or fine, soft cheeses.
Elected World’s Best Triple (World Beer Awards 2012).

Obviously this beer wasn't ready for a photo yet, but my nosy Calico photo bombing was too cute not to take the shot.
Anyway, I am sure I have had this tasty triple before, somewhere in the dark age. Given the history of this beer that is quite possible.
Everything in this beer on its own is fairly held back. Dried stone fruits, fresh apricot and peach, black pepper, maybe even some vanilla. But all together it is a pretty complex and very tasty beer.

Bière de coulé paille foncéeousse omniprésente et durable
Au goût assez légère pour une triple
Ce 'est pas mon style préféré mais là je pourrais presque aimer
