Petite Sour Blueberry
4.5% Sour / Wild Ale
Wild Ale aged in Oak with Blueberries. Primarily fermented with our mixed culture of wild yeast, each batch of Petite Sour undergoes a secondary fermentation in large oak foeders with a generous amount of whole fruit. With multiple releases throughout the seasons, we concentrate on sourcing fresh fruit from some of our favorite growing regions for this sessionable sour beer. Showcasing the fruit-derived characteristics, Petite Sour is the perfect sour beer for all seasons and occassions. Look for year-round batches fermented with whole fruit, including raspberries and blurberries from Washington; a Rosè version aged on the second use fruit skins for an effervescent, champagne type character, and our newest edition with local Colorado peaches.

Soft berries, slighty tart. Hint of wild yeast.

Semihazy, ruby beer with rich but short-lived carbonation unleashes a silky, off-white head that barely reaches one finger. The foamy cap dissolves soon to a thin lacing on top. The retreating foam leaves downpouring splatters on the glass. The scent displays medium-strong lingonberry and a tad bilberry. The fragrance is, however, quite simple and one-dimensional. The taste is somewhat thin albeit nicely sour: I get a mix of bilberry, lingonberry and cranberry. The body is quite thin, even a bit watery. The beer finishes relatively rapidly with a medium-sour medley of bilberry and lingonberry. The mouthfeel is thin, somewhat tart and a bit puckering. It's also acidic, juicy and gardeny.

Aged in Oak with Blueberries.
