Glad to have found what looks like a crafty but the can is so unassuming, I just don't know what to expect. Pour was uneventful and left a lna amber body with a slight suggestion of a red hue, like it has aspirations to be a red ale. Some foamy head was present but it didn't last and with only faint carbonation in the glass, it looks a little underwhelming. Notes of, surprise surprise, firm malts. Doughy bread, dry crackers and sweet biscuit. Some earthy corn peaks through at the end but no sign of any floral notes. Mouthfeel was mildly crisp with the moderate carbonation and light body but the foam also made it's presence known and left a coating in the mouth. Taste is quite light, dough and crackers in the first salvo but the dough isn't as heavy as in the scent. The cracker is dry and a little salty, which helps easy into the earthiness of the corn. The corn has a mildly sweet profile which leads into the sweet biscuit malt and brings us full circle, back to the malty beginning. Atleast this is a Vienna lager so I can rest easy that the malty profile should be expected and I'm not just losing my sense of smell and taste.
