Motivation beer for Thursday evening homework. Another random Swedish imperial stout, this time with 10% and added vanilla bean, liqourice and star anise. The beer flows nicely out of the bottle to my kitchen table, producing a dark spilled stain. Now I see why it's called motor oil. Sure got that right. About the half of bottle is lost. Scent is fairly interesting though. Star anise and liqourice make it very candy-like. Also roasty malts. Mouthfeel is rather carbonated but semi-thick, oily. First sips feel like I'm drinking foam, even though it looks it's liquid. Hmm. Hope it goes away. Temperature is still a bit too cold. Taste provides a mish-mash of liqourice, vanilla and anise with overall sweet body and throat warming aftertaste. It's also rather strong taste, having everything it promised. Eh, it's a good sipper but nothing spectacular. You have those three flavours, still foam-like body and some porter-like roasty bitterness at the end. Also bit frustrating to have a bottle that flows over but I guess it was flipped around during the delivery or something. Bad luck.
