Tasting paddle 1/4.
Practically transparent, dark tea-colored beer with shy, short-lived carbonation creates a creamy, velvety head that shrinks visibly to a thin lace ring on top.
The scent displays strong syrup, a tad molasses and a deep caramelly twist.
The palate is relatively sweet and somewhat syrupy: medium-sweet syrup merges with caramel, a bit of molasses, sweet malt and a recognizeable bready aroma.
The light-bodied beer ends rather hastily with sweet malt bread, a bit of molasses and slightly bitter syrup, followed by a distinct caramelly nuance.
The mouthfeel is light, even thin for a Porter, a tad sappy, uninspiring and a bit homebrewish.
