Tasting paddle 4/4.
Turbid, yellow beer with modest, short-lived carbonation unlocks a pure white, fluffy head that clings to the wall of the glass while contracting to a beautiful, dense layer adorning the top.
The nose is confused and takes a couple of steps backwards. It senses a bit musty farmhousey aroma and some sewerage. I also find faint durian and stuffy wheat malt.
The taste is really tangy and a bit chemical. Lemon peel, stuffy wheat malt and bitter orange peel constitute the skeleton of the gustatory offer. I also get a boozy tang lingering on the sides of the tongue.
The body is light to light-medium. The aftertaste is hasty and displays lemon peel, accompanied by zesty lemon pulp, bitter wheat malt and a little pinch of bitter orange peel.
The mouthfeel is relatively light, a bit musty, slightly tangy and distantly chemical. It's also funky!
This was an interesting melon wheat. Nevertheless, I didn't find a pinch of melon in it.
