The last beer of the tasting paddle, number 10/10.
It's interesting that even a barrel aged porter is distinctly lucid. The beer colors deep ruby and pours a light beige, silky lace ring on top. The scent displays massive syrup and a tad molasses, a bit of brown sugar and a recognizeable nuance of Bourbon. A delicate note of vanilla lingers subtly to the nostrils. The tongue receives a lovely round taste of whiskey, accompanied by syrup, molasses and sweet malt bread. I also find an oaky aroma of barrel. The body is medium to medium-full. The beer ends with a tad oaky nuance of whiskey, round syrup, a bit of sweet brown malt and distant vanilla. The mouthfeel is barrel aged, round, a bit lip-glueing and slightly mature.
