The folks at Bruny Island Beer Co have made another superb beer. Malty, sweet, smooth, velvety rich, with an almost discernable taste of real milk products... Yummy!

Now this is local! A beer from a microbrewery on Bruny Island, it's actually a part of an organic farmhouse cheesery.
Muddy, deep dark brown beer with decent, short-lived carbonation unleashes a silky, light tan head that exceeds one finger. The foamy pillow shrinks gradually to a frazil-icy lacing wafting on the surface. The withdrawing foam leaves multiple small downpouring patterns on the glass.
The nose receives sweet licorice, a drop of black coffee and a faint roasty aroma.
The palate is nicely strong and interestingly a bit spritzy. I get hefty sweet licorice, some aniseed, a tiny injection of tar and a burned, even slightly charred suggestion. A creamy whisper lingers lightly on the tongue.
The body is light-medium. The beer ends with a tad bitter licorice, a generous amount of licorice root, a bit of dark espresso and raw chocolate. The aftertaste whirls on the tongue for a short to medium time.
The mouthfeel is strong, slightly sappy and a bit lip-glueing. It's also burned and distantly charred as well as soft and smooth.
Accompanies beautifully my wallaby burger. 🦘
