The beer colors murky, black. The moderate, fast carbonation unlocks a densely packed, light fawn head that exceeds one finger and floats down to a thin lacing on top.
Unlike what the black color might suggest, the olfactory supply is astonishingly fresh fruity: bitter orange peel, a good amount of zesty grapefruit and lemon pulp, seasoned by a bit of pineapple and faint carambola.
The palate displays hefty citrus, particularly loads of grapefruit juice and lemon zest, accompanied by bitter orange peel, fresh hops and a faint piney nuance.
The body is light-medium to medium. The beer finishes with bitter, coarse grapefruit peel, a dollop of grapefruit zest, some unfruity lemon peel and a tiny pinch of spruce needles. The aftertaste lingers in mouth for a rather long time.
The mouthfeel is medium-crisp, summery and somewhat mouth-drying.
