As the name suggests, this beer has undergone a long boil before fermentation to result in lots of caramelised sugars and plenty of hop bitterness.

Hmmm, over a year old Barleywine 😋
Bottle. Bottled on: 12/2017
Temperature: +14,5 degrees
Reddish-brown, hazy. Off-white head is small and soon gone: 3,25/5
Nose: red berries, dried fruit, marmelade, burnt caramel, toastiness and some nutty aromas. Pretty basic stuff: 4/5
Mouthfeel is full and round with mild bitterness and noticebly alcohol warmth: 4,25/5
Taste: malty, caramel, dried fruit, alcohol, toffee, light citrus... Again, good but very basic: 10,5/15
Well, have to say I would expect much more complexity for over a year old Barleywine. This is good and all but nothing special... If Barleywine could be boring, this is how it would be like: 14,75/20
=36,75/50
