As B.C. burns, including a few very small ones popping up here on the island, we are blanketed in smoke. In some communities it so bad it seems day never rises. I luckily am only mildly effected. It's very noticeably darker than normal, smelly, and mildly irritating to eyes and throat.
In an effort to rinse the taste out of my mouth I am going to have this lager.
A beautiful golden colour, much like the sun appears throughout the smoke at noon.
A very sweet grainy malt aroma, rich and deep, with notes of biscuit, nuttiness, and a mild hint of apple.
Medium light bodied, mildly heavy for a lager, smooth and lightly sweet.
The malty flavors really shine through in the taste, but there is an odd kind of tart bitterness I think is from the hops that works in conjunction with the apple flavor. Not my favorite part of this beer, but it doesn't really ruin it.
