After a gleeful frolic under the invigorating drops from a sprinkler, I decided to keep the refreshing merriment going with a new (to me) beer. A brut IPA.
Visually appealing, this effervescent lightly clouded green ipa doesn't build as big a head as I would anticipate. What there is is bright white and fluffy.
The nose on this is milder than I expected but not lacking in depth.
Floral with melon, grapefruit, possibly gooseberry, and a very minute touch of pine.
Very interesting experience for the tongue. Tingly and tart but not bitter or strong. It is rather dry and packs a quick jab of flavour that eases slowly into a clean but lingering aftertaste.
Floral notes pave the way for mild grapefruit, melon, possibly pear, some indistinct tropical hints, and I hate being cliche but slightly champagne like taste. That however is more of an undertone than a component. Quite a nice hoppy beer with out being juicy or bitter. Nice addition to the family of IPAs.
Now if you'll excuse me it's time to run through the sprinkler again. Wheeee summer.
