St.Bernardus Prior 8 stands out with its fruity aroma, reminiscent of tree fruits like red apples, but complemented by exotic touches of figs and dates. The whole is rounded off perfectly by impressions of caramel and roast malt. The full taste is malty and fruity in equal measure and achieves the perfect balance between bitter and sweet.

Dark brown beer, technically speaking transparent – I guess. The carbonation is a bit hyperactive as it unleashes a soft sand-colored foam cloud up to three fingers.
A somewhat sweet fragrance: gingerbread dough, milk chocolate, brown sugar, caramel and syrup.
The gustatory sphere portrays raw cacao powder, caramel, brown sugar, a smaller amendment of grass and a hint of resin.
The body is light-medium. The end gears to more bitter by a couple of decimals.
The mouthfeel is light-medium, lip-glueing, smooth and a tad effervescent. Fairly easy for Dubbel, not very characterful.
