80 Shilling 3.9%, Belhaven Brewery (Greene King), Scotland

80 Shilling
3.9% Scottish Ale
80 Shilling is Belhaven’s classic, just like beer great great great grandpa would have had. It has a classic red appearance in the glass, rich and smooth. An Austrian Emperor once described 80/- as ’the burgundy of Scotland’. Not sure how many he’d had, but the man clearly had taste.

Good depth of flavour but with a watery initial draught. Tasty and sessionable.

Een easy going Scottisch Ale. Moutig, niet te zoet, klein beetje fruit, iets van karamel en niet bitter. Proost🍻
