Blast from the past, pilsner made by Guinness (Diageo), I didn't think they made it anymore. A decent effort on the packing to create a authentic German look. The pour from the bottle was easy hut left a flat looking body. Golden yellow, almost completely transparent with a pale hue. No head, no foam and only modest carbonation. Aromas of cereals, biscuit and citrus hops. Very mild wheat, salty cracker and lemon with grass. Mouthfeel is mildly crisp even though the body looks flat. Moderate carbonation is felt in the mouth as the bubbles flow. Taste is a little let down, sweet bread malt collides with the salty cracker, but then a slight metallic taste can be found. The whole thing starts to turn quite harsh and while some citrus and grass can be tasted beneath, the aftertaste is very artifical and 'chemical' tasting. Even nostalgia couldn't save this.

Not a bad lager; has a rich satisfying taste and a crisp aftertaste with a smooth lingering finish.
