Flight 2/6. This is an old acquaintance from the last summer.
Translucent, very deep dark brown beer with ruby tint and shy, rapid carbonation pours a silky, beige head that falls short of half a finger's height.
The fragrance is surprisingly thin compared to how I experienced it last time: merely a distant note of roasted caramel is what I get.
The taste receptors sense rather hefty salty licorice and a good amount of licorice root, a drop of tar, some soot and bonfire as well as a suggestion of bitter syrup.
The body is light. The beer ends quite slowly with roasted malt, a recognizeable touch of tar, strong bitter licorice and a whisper of syrup.
The mouthfeel is thin, very distantly crisp, otherwise soft and a bit lip-glueing. I keep the same rating.

Clear, very dark brown beer with powerful ruby tint fills the first glass of the tasting flight from tap. Forms a half-finger, fawn, velvety head that settles gradually to a neat lace ring. The nose receives hefty smoky caramel, distinct licorice and some bitter molasses.
The taste is relatively smoky with a bit of tar, accompanied by strong soft licorice, harsher licorice root, a tad caramel and faint syrup.
The light-bodied beer ends with bags of bitter smoky malt, some caramel and a grainy nuance. The finish rolls in mouth for a medium to long period.
The mouthfeel is light-crisp, a bit thin, rather soft as well as smooth.
