Bourbon, oak, brown sugar and slight maple syrup in the aroma. Maple syrup shows up first in the taste. This is immediately followed by a smooth bourbon. Some of that brown sugar and a subtle caramel follow. Slight hop bitterness even beyond that. Very subtle oak hits mid-palate into the after taste. Very complex with all the flavors working with each other and very well balanced. Mouthfeel is medium with a moderate amount of carbonation to tie this all together. Very well made and definitely recommended. One of the best brown ales I've tried and I wouldn't hesitate to grab another one. 4.25/5
