Mestareiden liigan finaali ja hyvä jenkki BBA Imperial Russian Stout by Dark Horse Brewing Company 🖤 Tuoksussa syvää tummuutta. Paahdettua mallasta tulee heti kärkeen jonka jälkeen kiva tummaan suklaasen dipattujen hedelmien hetki 😋 Tähän lyöty humalaa isolla kauhalla myös joka antaa oman sävyn kyllä maussa 🤌 Erittäin nautinnollista 🤤 Alkot hyvin piilossa eikä mikään överi makea 👍Ainoa asia mikä harmittaa on pieni tölkki 0,33l , on nimittäin juotavuus hyvällä tasolla 🤣 Pienthusiast Care Pack nro.1

Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #8 2017 vintage This one has been in all 4 years of my Advent Calendar and, unfortunately, this will be its last appearance as this is my last bottle. Rum, bourbon, chocolate, coffee notes, cinnamon (first time I've gotten this) and oak in the aroma. Taste has rum, chocolate, bourbon, oak, coffee and a hint of vanilla. The body is full with a low amount of carbonation. Any other style (even some stouts) and the carbonation would be too low, but it works in this one. It's been a good run, but all good things must end. Dark horse has gone down in quality over the last few years (not too long after this release), but if they released this again, I'd definitely give it a shot. Solid 4.25/5

Advent Calendar Day #5 This is one of the few that has been featured all three years (I'm sure there are a few others). 2017 vintage. A perfect blend of bourbon and rum, chocolate and coffee notes, some vanilla and a little bit of oak in the aroma. Someone should make this into a candle. Taste has rum first, followed by oak, bourbon, coffee and chocolate. Some vanilla in the finish. Definitely more rum-forward than I remember. The body is medium-full with an appropriately low amount of carbonation. Very tasty, high 4.25/5

Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #8 Another repeat from last year's advent calendar. Both bourbon and rum come through in the aroma, with the bourbon being a little bit stronger. Chocolate follows closely behind. Taste has bourbon, rum, oak and chocolate. The oak lingers in the aftertaste. Very smooth mouthfeel, medium-full body and a virtually nonexistent amount of carbonation, which only works since it's a stout. Tasty beer that hopefully they decide to brew again one day. More complexity in the flavors would be beneficial to this beer. High 4/5

Barrel Aged Advent Calendar beer Day #18 2017 vintage Bourbon and rum dominate the aroma. Smells amazing. Oak and dark fruits beyond that. Taste has oak first, followed by bourbon and then rum. The dark fruits show up next. Very good beer. Was better fresh, in my opinion. 4/5

Bourbon, rum, chocolate and dark fruits in the aroma. Taste has dark fruits, roasted malts, bourbon, rum and chocolate. Very good, with the bourbon and rum both contributing to this delicious flavor. I'm a fan of aging in both rum and bourbon barrels, and this is no exception. Absolutely delicious and highly recommended if you happen to come across this. 4.5/5

Huge, sweet barrel character in this one. You can definitely tell this is bourbon barrel aged, but there is a sweetness from the addition of rum barrel aging. Coffee roastiness is next. Chocolate is hidden underneath the other aromas, but I'm sure it will show up in the taste. Taste has a nice rum sweetness that combined with the bourbon is a tasty combo. Chocolate and coffee both show up next. Dark fruits beyond all of these flavors. This is an incredibly well made beer that is smooth and very tasty. Definitely the best of the three versions. Similar mouthfeel and carbonation as the other versions of this beer. Not quite the side by side by side I planned on doing with these beers, but it still worked out. Here's to hoping I don't regret the decision to have all 3 of these tonight. Well made, 4.5/5

There's definitely a sweetness in the aroma. The rum barrel aging is evident, in addition to the bourbon barrel aging. Wood from the aging is present as well. Nice taste to this one. I'm getting elements from both the rum and bourbon barrel aging. The rum barrel adds some sweetness to this. Just like in the aroma, the wood shows up. There's some spiciness to this as well. The spiciness that I'm getting takes away from the smoothness of this one, but it's not harsh at all. Alcohol is present, but not overwhelmingly so. Carbonation is on the lower end of medium. Mouthfeel is on the higher end of medium. This is damn tasty. I'd need to revisit the other versions of this beer, but just going off memory, this is by far the best one. I think a side by side by side review is in the future. 4.5/5
