Red Arrow, a local brewery has created this beer for a pub (the riverside Inn) and a "ranch" (laketown ranch) which is just a big event ground in the town (Lake Cowichan) where the pub is. It's a cool idea.
Not long ago I had a beer which was the palest I'd ever encountered, this isn't too far off.
Automatically it has not much to go on. A bit like a pilsner I think. At least as far as hops go, but I keep getting this odd aroma of sugar cookie, or cake maybe. Possibly vanilla icing. There is a little graininess in the back.
Hmmm. It has definitely peaked my curiosity.
In the mouth it seems crisp, clean, and light. On the tongue are nuances of hops and pale malt
The hops are used as bittering only and have a not quite spicy type taste. The whole thing is a little watery. Then as the flavour starts to fade, a whole other taste sensation arise out of nowhere. Seriously it's like I've had a sip from a different beer all of a sudden. It fills the mouth with almost more flavour than the initial profile. It is like bread dough, and maybe some kind of cake batter. Very odd. Never had anything quite like it. Really only a 2 star beer but 1/2 star extra for oddities. I do like weird.
