The aroma is dense, the souring and the liquorice blending into a titanic wall of flavour. The palate takes an immediate assault. Upfront is a smouldering wall of thick Imperial Stout; the souring has sharpened off the expected roasted edges and is surprisingly balanced. The finish releases the liquorice on a wave of tart soy and roasted malts.
