Chocolate and bourbon in the aroma. In the taste, the bourbon shines. It's the first thing to show up and it's not harsh or super warm at first. Very smooth bourbon character. Beyond that, I'm getting a rich chocolate and some wood from the barrel aging. This is a great no frills bba stout. Just chocolate and bourbon, nothing else. Very simple, yet well done. As it goes on, this is pretty heavy on the bourbon and is definitely a sipper. Would probably go well with a cigar. This is tasty, but I wish the bourbon was more subtle. It keeps changing on me, because now the booziness has died back down. I'm getting more of the chocolate again. On the high end of medium bodied. I'd love to try one with some age on it. Still a great stout that I'd buy again. 4.25/5
