Imperial milk stout. Pleasant coffee aromas. String and robust coffee taste with light bitterness and heavy sweetness

Einfach unglaublich
Einfache aber deswegen auch coole
Dose. Im Glas tiefes schwarz mit wenig
cremigem Schaum. In der Nase Vanille
und viele dunkle Beeren, Schokolade,
Kaffee und vieles mehr. Schwerer
Antrunk und dann eine
unbeschreibliche Fülle an Aroma. Die
15% sind so gut eingebunden das es
der helle Wahnsinn ist. Ich hatte es in
der 0,5I Dose was bei einem so
komplexen Bier für eine Person
eigentlich schon Zuviel ist. Nicht leicht
Zu trinken aber super zum genießen!
Kamin an und der Winter kann
kommen.

2019 vuoden To Ølin joulukalenterin 24. luukun olut 😁
Makea ja hivenen paahteinen tuoksu. Maku aika lailla sokerinen, sellainen palaneen sokerinen. Vähän överi makea omaan makuun muttei tasoa Mikkellerin Black. Pientä kahvisuutta lisäksi.

2019 kalenterin 24 luukku. Juotu joskus aikaisemmasta kalenterista.
Mustaa. Beige vaahto. Tuoksu paahteinen. Maku, öljyinen, makea, suklaata ja kahvia. Miellyttävä olut.

Snowstorm has hit Oulu! Needed something slow, albeit it's not exactly a Jule yet.
Imperial Milk stout. From a time when lactose wasn't considered a crutch or a hindrance. Bottled 19/09/16, assuming they gave ten years for best before date.
At first I thought I wouldn't get much foam out of it, so I made a generous pour. But there's solid layer of it, nicely leaving marks around the glass and settling at about a finger's length.
Scent of milky cocoa, bit berries, leather. Milk chocolate. Deep, but not too complex.
Mmh! The body is generous.
Taste of milk, chocolate, coffee, confectionery caramel chocolate, licorice, red berries, refined leather-ish flavour. Seems like a rather deeply layered package for just a milk stout. Finish of cocoa milk. Still, has some flavours I can't fully grasp.
Body is very full, especially at the beginning. Smooth ride, finish is a bit lighter but still sticky. Not overly sweet beer, there's something dry wine-like flavour that compensates. Alcohol was nicely warming at beginning, finely rounded as well. Almost dangerously easy to sip, but I don't consider that a bad thing.
Hmm, if it's really over 4 years old a bottle, it has sure kept its flavour well. I was bit fearful of an experience similar to Amurga, but luckily that wasn't the case. Merry almost christmas.
